Connecting to: The Bug

Buffering... Transferring data...

Connection successful.

This really wasn't something he wanted to get used to, using computers mentally. But, if Brother Eye was right, this was an emergency.

Using the Bug to get the hell out of the Labs, Ted delivered both himself and Spider-man out.

What would happen? Hell, he didn't know. He didn't want to stick around to find out. Maybe he didn't want to know; he had enough problems with talking to a vengeful satellite in his head and ... yeah. Issues were definitely at hand here, and he was getting a little sick of it.

Away from the sub-basement, Blue Beetle carried Spider-man into his apartment, with fortunate stealth to keep from alerting any neighbors abound. To the couch, he mentally declared, and gently set the webslinger down.

Afterwards... Hell, Beetle pulled off his cowl and slumped in a chair, dropping the mask to the floor.

"Target: secure."

"That's one way of putting," Ted supposed.

Spider-Man: BOOM![info]spinsaweb on October 13th, 2005 07:24 am (UTC)
Peter's passed out for a long, long while. The entire night, even.

While Peter's unconscious and Ted found the need, he fetched a blanket for the webslinger and made him, hopefully, as comfortable as possible.

He didn't feel quite confident enough to leave him there and go to bed, though...

"Target: Spider-man.

Study: Target."

"Is that your way of being nice to me?" Ted grumbled.

He decided a nap in the chair ought to be good enough anyway.
Spider-Man: aaaaaaaaaangst[info]spinsaweb on October 13th, 2005 04:15 pm (UTC)
It's morning when Peter wakes up, sore and still exhausted. He blinks up at the ceiling. "Where -?"

He sits up, head prostesting, and looks around the apartment. "Beetle? Oh, man ... Beetle, wake up..."
Blue Beetle: (Ted Kord) I am raising my eyebrow.[info]brilliant_bug on October 13th, 2005 06:09 pm (UTC)
Snorting a bit in his sleep, Beetle shifted and peeked an eye open. Usually, if he was so deeply asleep, he wouldn't budge unless there was a natural disaster going on. However, the chair reeeeally wasn't so comfortable for nappy times.

"Eh...? ...Oh yeah." Now he remembered. Kinda. "Spidey, you all right?"
Spider-Man[info]spinsaweb on October 13th, 2005 07:05 pm (UTC)
"Uh, yeah, I think..." Peter rubs his aching head. "Oh, god! Hermes, and Norman ... what happened? Beetle, you've got to tell me." He swings his legs over the side of the couch and tries to stand up, but falls back, wincing in pain.

"Hey, hey. Easy." Stepping away from the chair -- ow, a wee bit sore, don't sleep in chairs EVER AGAIN -- Ted rested his hand to Peter's shoulder. "Sit boy. Stay."

Tilting his head, he thought. "...Well, uh." He wasn't exactly comfortable with disclosing the fact that part of his brain was a computer connected an evil satellite of doom that enabled him to know the Engine was freaking up. But. "The engine was short circuiting, so I went to find you." There, that sounded good. "Norman was oozing, and I couldn't snag Hermes. I just grabbed you and brought you back here. You were unconscious when I found ya."
Spider-Man[info]spinsaweb on October 13th, 2005 07:42 pm (UTC)
Peter twitches under his hand. "Oh, shit," he mutters. "Beetle, we have to go back. I need to fix it - oh god, it was a delicate balance as it was, what if I killed him, god?" He forces himself upright, and he manages. Clinging to Beetle's chest. Ahem.

Platonic clinging, of course. Er.

"Look, I don't know if you're even in a condition to go walking around and checking on your gadgets," Ted told him, sighing a bit. "I mean, look at you! You can't stand up on your own, Spidey."

"You're right," Peter says, trying to get his knees to lock right. It's not working.

"So," he adds, "you're going to have to come with me. Do you have any insulated wire and pliers?"
Blue Beetle: (Ted Kord) I am raising my eyebrow.[info]brilliant_bug on October 13th, 2005 09:49 pm (UTC)
Sigh. Definitely, Ted was rolling his eyes a little at his stubborness, but he knew that if the situation was exchanged, he might have been just the same.

"I'd be silly not to," he responded. "I'll take you to the Bug and we'll head over there, but don't go and do anything stupid, or I shall have to shake my finger in disapproval."
Spider-Man: peaceful world[info]spinsaweb on October 13th, 2005 09:54 pm (UTC)
"Ho-kay, Mr. Shiny Carapace," Peter says, really forcing the humor. He hopskitterclings up onto Ted's back. Well, it's not like he can walk!
Blue Beetle: Down to serious business.[info]brilliant_bug on October 13th, 2005 10:00 pm (UTC)
Beetle could tell; there were times that he himself had felt the need to force humor and a few laughs. For his sake or someone else's. Ugh. But he said no such thing; he knew Peter was trying necessarily.

"Ack; a little old for this, aren't we?" Ted carried him, regardless.

Initiating engines.

After snagging his cowl for this occasion, Blue Beetle carried Spider-man into the Bug, setting him down in the passenger chair. "Buckle up, Spidey. We'll be over at the Labs in a momento."

Without even remotely touching the console, he piloted the Bug out of its garage.

Destination: Nexus Labs
